Paddle Dryer
 
The paddle dryer has been successfully applied in fields such as food, chemical industry, petrochemical industry, dyes, and industrial sludge. The characteristics of heat transfer, cooling, and stirring of the equipment enable it to complete the following unit operations: calcination (at low temperature), cooling, drying (solvent recovery), heating (melting), reaction, and sterilization. The stirring paddles also serve as heat transfer surfaces, increasing the heat transfer area within the unit effective volume and shortening the processing time. The heat transfer surfaces of the wedge-shaped paddles also have a self-cleaning function. The compression-expansion stirring function makes the materials mixed evenly. The materials move in a "plug flow" pattern along the axial direction, and within the axial interval, the gradients of temperature, humidity, and degree of mixing of the materials are very small.
 
Using heat-conducting oil as the heat medium, the paddle dryer can complete low-temperature calcination work. For example, calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO·2HO) is calcined and converted into calcium sulfate hemihydrate (CaSO·1/2HO). Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO) is calcined and converted into soda ash (NaCO), etc.
 
By introducing a cooling medium, such as water, cooling brine, etc., it can be used for cooling. For example, the paddle-type soda cooling machine used in the soda ash industry replaces the old-fashioned air-cooled soda cooling machine, saving energy and tail gas treatment equipment, reducing operating costs, and can also be used for cooling titanium dioxide, nickel-iron alloy powder, and various powdery and granular materials. In a single machine, the materials can be cooled from 1000°C to less than 40°C.
 
Drying is the main function of the equipment. Without using hot air, it makes the solvent recovery, energy consumption, and environmental control in an ideal state that is easy to handle. It is especially suitable for materials that require solvent recovery, are flammable, easily oxidized, and heat-sensitive. It has been widely used in the fine chemical, petrochemical, and dye industries.
 
The uniformity of temperature, humidity, and degree of mixing within the axial interval enables the equipment to be used for heating or melting, or for some solid material reactions. It has been successfully used in the compound fertilizer and modified starch industries. The paddle dryer can be used for sterilizing food and flour. The large heating area within the unit effective volume quickly heats the materials to the sterilization temperature, avoiding the change of material quality due to long-term heating.
 
Product Features
Low energy consumption of the paddle dryer: Due to indirect heating, there is no large amount of carrying air to take away heat, and the outer wall of the dryer is equipped with an insulating layer. For pasty materials, only 1.22 kg of steam is required to evaporate 1 kg of water.
Low system cost of the paddle dryer: With a huge heat transfer surface within the unit effective volume, the processing time is shortened, and the size of the equipment becomes smaller. This can reduce the floor area and building space.
Wide range of materials to be processed: By using different heat media, it can process both heat-sensitive materials and materials that require high-temperature treatment. Commonly used media include: steam, heat-conducting oil, hot water, cooling water, etc. It can operate either continuously or intermittently and can be applied in many fields.
Less environmental pollution: Without using carrying air, there is very little entrainment of dusty materials. The evaporation amount of the material solvent is very small, making it easy to handle. For working conditions with polluted materials or materials for which the solvent needs to be recovered, a closed-loop cycle can be adopted.
Low operating cost: For the normal operation of this equipment, only 1-2 people are needed per day. With low-speed stirring and a reasonable structure, the wear amount is small, and the maintenance cost is very low.
Stable operation: Due to the special compression-expansion stirring action of the wedge-shaped paddles, the material particles are in full contact with the heat transfer surface. Within the axial interval, the gradients of temperature, humidity, and degree of mixing of the materials are very small, thus ensuring the stability of the process.
