Model Selection Based on Pressure Conditions
High-pressure Scenarios: When the system pressure is high, the positive arch rupture disc is an ideal choice. Its structural design enables it to withstand high pressure. Through the action of pressure, the arch surface undergoes tensile rupture, thus achieving pressure relief. For example, in some high-pressure gas storage equipment, the positive arch rupture disc can effectively deal with the sudden increase in internal pressure and ensure the safety of the equipment.
Low-pressure Scenarios: For systems with low pressure, the positive arch slotted rupture disc or the reverse arch rupture disc is more suitable. The positive arch slotted rupture disc reduces the bursting pressure by setting slots on the arch surface, and it can act precisely even in a low-pressure environment. The reverse arch rupture disc uses the pressure to make the arch surface unstable and turn over to achieve pressure relief, and it can respond quickly under low pressure. For some low-pressure chemical reactors, these two types of rupture discs can be selected. If the system may experience a vacuum or back pressure, a back pressure support bracket needs to be configured to ensure the normal operation of the rupture disc. For systems with cyclic pressure or pulse pressure, the reverse arch rupture disc can better adapt to such pressure fluctuations due to its good fatigue resistance.
Model Selection Considering Temperature Factors
Different materials of rupture discs have different temperature tolerance levels. A high-temperature environment will have an impact on metal materials and sealing membranes, which may lead to a decline in material performance, and further affect the normal operation and service life of the rupture disc. In high-temperature scenarios, we will select rupture discs made of high-temperature-resistant materials for you. For example, rupture discs made of certain special alloy materials can maintain stable performance in a high-temperature environment and burst and relieve pressure accurately at the set pressure.
Model Selection Based on the Usage Scenarios
Used in Series with a Safety Valve: If it is necessary to use the rupture disc in series with a safety valve, in order to avoid the fragments of the rupture disc blocking the safety valve after it bursts, types without fragments after bursting should be selected, such as the reverse arch toothed rupture disc and the reverse arch grooved rupture disc. When these types of rupture discs are under overpressure, the diaphragm becomes unstable and turns over, and achieves rupture through a special structure without generating fragments, ensuring that the safety valve can function properly later.
Used for Liquid Media: Since the reverse arch rupture disc may have problems such as ineffective pressure relief in liquid media, generally, the reverse arch type is not selected when used for liquid media, and the positive arch rupture disc is recommended instead. The positive arch rupture disc can better adapt to the pressure changes of liquid media and burst and relieve pressure in a timely manner.
Requirements of Special Industries: In industries with extremely high hygiene requirements, such as food processing and pharmaceuticals, we provide sanitary grade rupture discs. It belongs to the reverse arch slotted rupture disc, installed in a standard clamp, and complies with hygiene standards such as ASME/BPE/3A, etc. The size range is usually between 25mm and 100mm, which can effectively prevent media contamination and provide overpressure protection for pipelines at the same time.
